<p>That extra git-annex- prefix is used in ~/.ssh/config to set up the ssh keys for the repository. So it's normal.</p>
<p>I suggest that you try running git-annex sync at the command line and paste the output so we can see how it fails.</p>

<p>I was shown a password prompt for the remote. Then I realised I was controlling my ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file with puppet, which would have removed the public key that annex would have added to that file. I'm sure that once I fix that up, I'll get it working again.</p>
