git-annex transfers cannot display progress bars when files are being
sent.
Also, it cannot always display progress bars when files are being received, depending on the type of special remote. It can only notice when the object file is growing in size.
I think that both of these could be handled better by making progress updates for send/receive also update the transfer info file with the current byte count. This would mean writing some data to disk, but well, during a transfer a lot of data is already going to/from disk, so updating the file once per second would probably be unnoticable.
While mkProgressUpdater should update the file, it seems it's not?
I have some work toward this in the transferprogress branch.
