I noticed a git-annex copy -J4 --to a local remote was opening and closing the keysdb of the remote repository repeatedly. This probably slows it down some.
Not immediately clear why, Remote.Git.onLocal reuses the same Annex state, so should keep the keysdbhandle open, unless something is closing it, but I can't see what might be. --Joey
When this was filed in 2020 I'm not sure why it would do that, but later on ba7ecbc6a9c3763e8152e4f46522d14a4ee2b59d made
quiescecallDatabase.Keys.closeDband so this is entirely the expected behavior.There is certainly the potential for less frequent use of
quiesceavoiding this overhead though. It could eg wait 1 second after last use before quiescing.
